How does the OZZI program work?
- Order your SoDo Kitchen meal to go in an OZZI reusable container
- You will be charged a one-time deposit of $2.00 for the use of a reusable container when you pay for your first meal
- After eating your meal, rinse or wipe out the OZZI container and return it to an OZZI machine by scanning the barcode. You will receive a token to use as the container deposit for your next meal at SoDo Kitchen
- OZZI container return machines are located at the SoDo Kitchen Cafe and the 7SW Kitchenette
- Use your token on your next visit to SoDo Kitchen Café. Repeat the reusable container ordering process and present your token at the register. If you do not have a token, you will need to pay a $2.00 deposit
How do I get a reusable container & a token?
Ask SoDo Kitchen staff to serve your meal in an OZZI container. At the register, pay the $2.00 deposit for the container then return your container to an OZZI machine. The OZZI machine will dispense a token to be used as the deposit on the OZZI container for your next meal at SoDo Kitchen.
What type of reusable containers are available?
- 9×9 for salads or entrees
- 8×8 for salads or entrees
- 6×9 for salads or sandwiches
- 5×5 for sides
- 16 oz soup cup
- Hot & cold drink cup

What if I can’t find/don’t have my token and I want my meal in an OZZI reusable container?
You will need to pay a $2.00 deposit for the container when you purchase your meal at SoDo Kitchen Café
What if I lose the reusable container?
You will need to pay another $2.00 deposit when you purchase your meal at SoDo Kitchen Café
What happens if I need multiple containers?
You may use as many OZZI containers as you need. There will be a $2.00 deposit charged for each
Can I redeem my token for cash?
No, tokens have no cash value and can only be used as deposits on OZZI reusable containers
How does the OZZI container get cleaned?
SoDo Kitchen will remove the dirty containers from the OZZI machines and wash them in a commercial dishwashing machine according to King County Department of Health standards
Can I reuse the same container instead of returning it to an OZZI machine?
The King County Department of Health standards do not allow this practice. SoDo Kitchen must adhere to all sanitation guidelines and properly clean and sanitize all containers between uses.
Can I exchange a dirty container for a clean container in SODO Kitchen?
No, containers need to be returned to an OZZI machine where you will receive a token to use as the deposit on your next OZZI container. The OZZI machines allow SoDo Kitchen to keep track of usage and ensure that the returned containers are properly cleaned and sanitized.
Do I have to rinse my container before depositing it in the machine?
Where possible, containers should be rinsed or wiped out before being returned to the OZZI machine
Do I have to return my OZZI container to an OZZI machine?
Yes, the OZZI container must be returned to an OZZI machine in order to get a token for the deposit on your next container. If you leave the OZZI container in a branded SoDo Kitchen Return Cabinet, it will be washed but you will not get a token and will have to pay another $2.00 deposit when you get your next meal in an OZZI reusable container.
What happens if an OZZI machine is not working?
SoDo Kitchen plates, bowls and cups will be utilized in these incidents. The OZZI machine is networked to track usage and technical errors.
What if I don’t want to pay the deposit to use an OZZI reusable container?
SoDo Kitchen will serve your meal on “for here” plates and bowls. You can enjoy your meal in SoDo Kitchen (seating is limited) or take it anywhere within the SSC. Return your plate/bowl/utensils to a branded Reusable Return cabinet, located on each floor of the SSC and it will be collected.
