Celebrate Black History Month

Tesfay Belay was born in Eritrea in 1988.  In 2006 he left to seek political asylum in Sudan, Egypt, and Israel. He finally arrived in the US in 2014.

During those seven years, he started cooking to support himself and learned several cuisines along the way; he now speaks four Celebrate Black History Month languages.

Tes met Sodo Kitchen Chef Vuong Loc in 2014 and was introduced to Bon Appetit.  Tes has now been with the company for almost four years and he uses his talents to bring delicious, authentic flavors to the Global station.

To celebrate Black History Month Tes has created a menu of dishes from his youth in Eritrea!  These are authentic dishes his family would cook for family gatherings. Tes will be sharing them with us in Sodo Kitchen from February 25th to March 1st.
