I see my favorite station is closed, when will it be open?

To reduce waste, limited stations and menu options are available. As partners return, additional stations will open and menu options will be expanded.

Why isn’t SoDo Kitchen Café open for breakfast?

To practice sustainability and reduce waste, the decision was made to only open SoDo Kitchen for lunch for now.  As partners return, service periods will expand.

Where are the bottled water & sodas?

In alignment with Starbucks’ Planet Positive initiative, SoDo Kitchen has committed to no single-use plastic bottles and will only sell canned, boxed, or glass-bottled beverages.

Plastic-bottled water has been replaced with canned still or sparkling water.  Soda is available from the fountain machine or in cans.

Are there to-go cups for the soda fountain?

Yes, there are OZZI reusable 16 oz hot/cold cups that can be used at the soda fountain.  Ask the cashier for an OZZI reusable cup when you pay for your items.  If you do not have an OZZI token, you will be charged a $2.00 deposit. Return the cup to an OZZI machine and get your token to use on your next OZZI reusable.

Where are all the snacks?

In alignment with Starbucks’ Planet Positive initiative, SoDo Kitchen will only sell snacks in 100% compostable packaging.  Bulk snacks will also be available and can be put in SoDo Kitchen dishware, an OZZI reusable container, or compostable bags.

Can SoDo Kitchen dishware be taken outside of the SoDo Kitchen dining room?

Yes, dishware can be taken anywhere in the SSC. Once finished with your meal, simply return the dishware to a branded SoDo Kitchen Reusables Return cabinet.  There will be one return cabinet on each floor of the SSC. SoDo Kitchen staff will empty the return cabinets throughout the day.

Can I still get my meal to go?

Yes! For a $2.00 deposit, you can get your meal in an OZZI reusable to-go container. Simply return the reusable container to an OZZI machine to receive a token to use as the deposit on your next OZZI reusable container.

How does mobile ordering work with the OZZI system?

When you are placing your order, you will have to select that you either have an OZZI token or that you need an OZZI token.  If you do not have an OZZI token, you will be charged the $2.00 deposit.

Your meal will be prepared and put into an OZZI container for you to pick up at your requested time.  When you pick up your order, please deposit your token in the OZZI piggy bank at the pickup station.

What is the OZZI program?

OZZI is a closed loop system where participants buy into the system by asking for their meal to be served in a green OZZI reusable to-go container and then pay a $2.00 deposit when purchasing their meal.

When finished with their meal, participants return the container to an OZZI machine and receive a token. The next time a participant would like to use an OZZI container, they can order their meal and then give the token to the cashier when they pay.

How does the OZZI system help sustainability and reduce waste?
  • Diverts single-use containers from oceans, landfills, and composting facilities
  • As each container can be used up to 300 times, recyclable becomes greatly more sustainable than a compostable option
  • OZZI containers are 100% recyclable so once a container is worn down from use, the #5 plastic can be melted down and remade into other recycled material products
